On Friday 29 August, year 10 students attended a workshop facilitated by the Sydney Jewish Museum. The workshop was called Understanding the Holocaust and students discussed the various strategies employed by the Nazi regime, to dismantle the rights and freedoms of Jewish citizens living within the Reich. Student were then able to meet a Holocaust survivor Lucy, who discussed her experiences in hiding, the role of Jewish resistance to the Nazi Regime in her survival and migration experiences to Australia. The students asked thoughtful questions and were respectful and engaged throughout the whole workshop. The year 10 teachers were so impressed with the students, their attention and for them giving up half of their lunch, they went out and purchased hot chips for the whole year to enjoy at the end.
Year 10 students have just completed their Holocaust assessment task, there are a couple of students scheduled to catch-up their tasks due to illness, however once all are completed teachers will return them to their classes with feedback.
Year 9 students have also just completed their Sustainable Biomes assessment task; Part A is an information report about Sustainable Fish Farming Practices Globally and Part B is an in class response. Again there are a couple of students scheduled to catch-up their tasks due to illness, however once all are completed teachers will return them to their classes with feedback.
Year 8 students have completed their interconnections assessment task and while there are a couple of students scheduled to catch-up their tasks due to illness, once all are completed teachers will return them to their classes with feedback.
Year 12 students have finished their Trial HSC, had them returned and now is the time to apply feedback from their teachers to enhance their study. All classes are still working to full capacity so it is important that Year 12 students are attending classes.
Year 11 students have begun their Preliminary Exams today. They have been thoroughly prepared for these in class. I encourage our Year 11 students to maintain a manageable revision routine and to seek support from their classroom teachers if required.
